While waiting for Christ to come, and come again, is a major theme during Advent, we are called to wait in all seasons of life. Waiting is a form of faith in God that says, “I will not take matters into my own hands. I will not force the issue (whatever they may be, and these days they are legion). I will trust that even though the world seems to be imploding all around me, that God is actively working for the good of those who trust in him.” But our waiting is never passive. As you will discover in the pages that follow, our waiting is always active, always faithful, always loving, always selfless.
